Shock Fitness - Terrance Joyce

Terrance Joyce - Founder, Master Trainer (NFPT)

Terrance (TJ) built Shock Fitness into one of the GTA's most respected private in home personal training companies. He has over 15 years of experience and is a Master Trainer with the National Federation of Professional Trainers (NFPT), an advanced Sports Nutrition Specialist (SNS), an Advanced Weight Training Specialist and an Advanced Endurance Training Specialist.  He has provided personal trained to recognized celebrities, NHL and CFL professional athletes as well as juvenile athletes in various sports. 

 

His understanding of the body and its mechanics allows him to accurately tailor exercises and programs that optimize his client’s fitness needs. His extensive training toolbox, methods and models of training, enable him to help his clients reach their personal goals. His passion and dedication to his clients are legendary. His high energy and creative style is key when motivating his clients to put forward their best efforts in each training session. Never one to let his clients off easy, his tough approach helps to not only make the body stronger, but the mind as well. 

 


 

Jessica Joyce – General Manager

Jessica is currently completing a Human Science Degree and will be joining us again as our summers on site manager. With her high energy personality, love of working out and her exceptional interpersonal skills, Jessica will continue to keep Shock Fitness organized to ensure you get the most out of your workouts this summer. Jordan Falcioni - PT and TRX Instructor

Jordan is a Fitness and Health Promotion Graduate from Georgian College, currently entering in his third year in the University of Guelph-Humber’s Kinesiology Program. He is a Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology Certified Personal Trainer (CSEP-CPT), who’s passion derives from helping others reach their fullest fitness potential.

 

As an aspiring future health care professional, Jordan entered the fitness industry as a personal trainer to help others practice exercise safely and functionally as a preventative means to injury. His many years of schooling has taught him that injuries often occur due to muscle imbalances as well as unusual positioning during activities. He focuses on strengthening the body as a whole to help prevent injuries. Having gained a certificate in therapeutic exercise for musculoskeletal disorders received by Registered Kinesiologist Fabian Rayne, he uses the skills taught to ensure the body is a functional unit. Outside of the summer Jordan works for the City of Brampton as a Personal Trainer at a local community centre and continues to attend school.

 

April Hawtin - Spinning Instructor, Burn-It Leader

April Hawtin - Spinning Instructor

April is a certified spinning and weight training instructor with BTS.  She is also a certified personal trainer with the Certified Personal Trainers Network (CPTN). She has extensive experience training athletes of all ages. April specializes in sport specific conditioning and functional training for athletes including, Ontario level competitive Skiers, Soccer players, Hockey players, Golfers and Runners. She brings all this experience to each and every class ensuring each participant gets exactly what they need.  April wants each person to know that it is possible to be healthy and fit even with a busy schedule and that fitness goals can be incorporated into our daily lives. When not teaching a class April works as a Registered Nurse, specializing in Neurosurgical I.C.U. and Emergency at a Toronto teaching hospital.

 

Heather Gallagher - Yin Yoga Instructor

A decade long struggle to balance physical health with mental health was the catalyst that lead Heather to yoga. Heather’s deep appreciation and desire to share ‘fitness favorites’ is a direct result of personally experiencing the ability exercise has to shift ones mood and how this can bridge the gap between the physical state and the mental state. Heather’s classes offer a physical challenge while tapping into a sense of playfulness seldom cultivated in todays fitness industry. The balance between the two states is where Heather has found ‘wellness’, and this is a journey she wishes for you as well.

 

Candance Wiese – Spinning Instructor, Personal Trainer

Kelsey Chiappa - PT, Circuit and ABC's Instructor

Kelsey is a personal trainer and coach based out of Ottawa. She is certified in power Yoga, and aids many clients with lower limb functions.  At home she teaches strength classes, circuit training, "booty" classes and a variety of cardio classes. Personal training clients vary from stay at home moms, business men and women, kids looking to excel in their sport of preference, and professional athletes. And, to be honest, it's the mom's that always inspire her!

 

She comes to Muskoka in the summer as a professional athlete. If she is not at the gym, you will find her on the water coaching and wakeboarding. She has vast knowledge is training for specific sports and excels in strength and cardio based circuit training. If you want to leave feeling accomplish, Kelsey is your go to girl for personal training this summer. Ask any of her clients..."It’s never easy, but it's always fun" -Adrianna (client for the past 2 years).

 

Lynne Stewart - PT Pilates and Barre Instructor

Lynne owns and has operated her studio SOL BARRE Pilates & Yoga in the GTA since 2005.  Lynne specializes in Reformer training, Posture and Pilates, and is bringing this to Shock Fitness this summer offering private training and SOL’s signature group class SOL Balance (a Barre Pilates class).   Lynne taught in Muskoka the summer of 2016 and has been involved with Camp Oochigeas in Muskoka since 2005 bringing SUP, Yoga & Wellness programs to campers and staff.  Lynne completed her Pilates training at Stott Pilates Education Centre in Toronto in 2004.  She is trained in Barre, Stott Pilates Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chairs & Barrels, Pilates for Golfers, Injuries & Special Populations, Prenatal Yoga, Structural Integration/Anatomy Trains, Gait Analysis/Postural Assessment, Yoga for Kids, Yoga Exercise Specialist, Restorative Yoga, Bellyfit, SUP & SUP Yoga.

Dr. David O'Connor - Chiropractor

Dr. David O’Connor is the clinic director of Bayview Chiropractic Health Centre. He is a chiropractor, a certified Active Release Techniques (A.R.T)® provider, and a medical acupuncture provider. He incorporates these and other modalities in an integrated approach to treatment of his patients.


Dr. O’Connor is team chiropractor for the Canadian women’s gymnastics team, the Canadian synchronized swimming team, and is a credentialed chiropractor for the National Sports Centre. He has been on the medical staff of world cups and world championships and provides injury treatment and performance enhancement care to numerous Olympic and professional athletes.

 

 Dave Wilson - Chiropractor

Dave Wilson - Chiropractor

Dave completed his undergraduate studies at Elmira College in lower State New York, were he played 4 yrs of NCAA hockey, then went on to play pro in different leagues. He then was accepted to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto.

He first practiced as a Chiropractor at Beaches Chiropractic Centre in Toronto for 3 years. He was affiliated with the Balmy Beach Rugby Club and Beaches Lacrosse seeing many sports injuries. Dr Dave then started Oak Park Chiropractic Centre in Oakville, which has now been in operation for 15 years. He has been heavily involved in the Oakville community seeing a variety of sports injuries, back pain, neck pain, headaches and helping with general overall body performance.

He resides in Oakville with his lovely wife Andea and children Emily, Owen, and Alexander

 

Shock Fitness - Marvin Shedletzky

Marvin Shedletzky - Chiropractor

Dr. Shedletzky   is clinic director for Canada's Accident Rehab Group and Toronto Health Care Group.  His focus is on  sports and family care   with a special interest in foot and spinal mechanics/ function.  Dr.  Shedletzky's patients include NHL,NBA, AHL players and officials.  He combines gentle specific chiropractic adjustments with muscle balancing for optimal results.
